FUNDRAISE FOR OUR CAUSE
We use the funding provided by donors to buy the fresh ingredients we use to bake our birthday cakes. Fundraising will give you a chance to gain experience in what its like to be a part of a nonprofit, while raising awareness about our cause!
WHAT WAYS CAN I FUNDRAISE?
Fundraising can come in many forms.
Either virtually or physically, you can team up with friends or family to gather money to donate. There are many other ways to fundraise, like hosting marathons or contests; the only limit is imagination! If you want more ideas, we have a few below to help you get started.
Crowdfunding
Using an online crowdfunding fundraiser is a simple but effective way to fundraise from home. Simply go to GoFundMe.com and make a fundraiser. Then share it online using social media platforms and telling your friends and family about it! You can take a look at ours to get inspiration below.
Door-to-Door Fundraising
Fundraising around the neighborhood is one of our favorite ways to fundraise! Prepare a way donors can donate easily like using a QR code or cash, then tell your community about our cakes. You can also offer complementary items such as baked goods or other small trinkets that your neighbors can keep. You can take a look at how we used this fundraising method below.
Events
Events is a larger type of fundraising that attracts many donations. Start an event by emailing us at suncakespecials@gmail.com or clicking the button below, and we can set you up!
HOW TO FUNDRAISE
Fundraising can be a challenging task as it requires much effort, time, and resources. However, with the right approach and strategy, you can make the process simpler and more effective. We have provided a basic outline that you can follow to fundraise for our ingredients so we can alleviate birthdays all over the world.
01
Decide how you will fundraise
Using the list of ideas above or an idea of your own, select an idea that sounds like the best fit for you. This would also be a great time to tell friends or family about what you're doing to form a team if you'd like to work with others.
02
Plan the dates and get permission
Once you've selected an idea for your fundraiser, it's important to finalize the dates of the fundraiser and get permission from any organizations if you need it. For example, if you were hosting a canned food drive, you would want to ask permission from the places you would want to put a donation box up to see if they'd allow it.
03
Spread the word
Spreading the word about fundraising is crucial because it helps to reach a wider audience who may be interested in supporting the cause. When more people know about the fundraising campaign, the chances of receiving donations increase. Some ideas to spread the word could include social media awareness, posters, or pamphlets. We have a few social media templates you can use here!
04
Start the fundraiser
Now that the preparation steps are done, it's time to start the fundraising part! This entirely depends on the type of fundraising method you use, but we have a few tips. First, track your donations. It is important to track where you are throughout the fundraising period, and sharing your progress with donors can be beneficial as well. Also, consider offering rewards or incentives for those who donate a certain amount, such as a discount on a future order or a special treat. And lastly, always that your donors! Showing your gratitude makes you and your donor happy, so it's a win-win.
We gratefully appreaciate your efforts to support our nonprofit. If you need any assistance with fundraising, please feel free to contact us!
HOW WOULD WE USE THE DONATIONS?
Ingredients
We are proud to dedicate 80% of our funds to buying high-quality ingredients for our birthday cakes. We believe that the best ingredients make the best treats, and we are committed to providing our clients with delicious birthday cakes.
Fundraising
We also dedicate 10% of our funds to fundraising purposes. This allows us to raise more money than we spent on the fundraiser itself, which allows us to get a stable source of income for our cakes.
Other
Another portion of our finances goes to miscellaneous things, such as website domain funding and payments to IRS documents. These things usually don't contribute to our cakes, but rather to the stability of our nonprofit.
